PDC/BDC communication via ISDN-dial up

In a WINNT SP6a environment I have a PDC and BDC (BDC on a remote location), connected through routers with ISDN dial up lines. The ISDN lines will be open all the time, because of OS-based communications between PDC and BDC. How to tune this, so itbecomes more cost effective ??
