Scenario: (2) NT 4.0 WS get disconnected from network resources randomly wait a couple of minutes and they are back on ? We have done continuity checks on cables nics and ports ? replaced all line suppression reapplied service pack 6.a and even hardcoded IP address removing from DHCP pool. ? Still no avail ?
We began looking at alert monitor in perf mon in NT ? Both on server and on work station. We used server disconnect and server reconnect params. Each > 1. All began to instantly show disconnects and no reconnects. We rebooted BDC and PDC reapplied perf mon and voila no disconnects on servers ? however, WS still receiving disconnects. And NT WS still experiencing problems w/ disconnects ? What exactly is the Parameter in perf mon REDIRECTOR Category Server Disconnects and Server Reconnects telling us ! Gremlin in the system ! Any IDEAS ? Any resource that can explain (in detail) the perf monitor items and their meaning ?
