performance monitoring/event viewer

Hello; I’ve made a mess out of my event viewer.Am I the only one who has done this? I am not making a lot of sense out of the windows 2k help files. Can anyone tell me is there a way to reset defaults for all monitoring.Or perhaps uninstall/reinstall all of it.And how about corrupt perf librarys{dll’s}.How does one remedy such an item manually?
