playback not supported

i downloaded flv files through real player recording option & converted all vedios to avi format. now when i try to open any vedio through cd it gives me a error- “the source filter for this file could not be loaded”. i checked its properties that showed me that the file is in .dat format.

Is anything wrong about the conversion??? plz reply
