We recently installed a cisco 3560 PoE 48 port switch. This morning I went to trace a network line that was plugged into this switch using a fluke meter to tone the line. When I went back to the switch, I notice all the lights off and it was in reboot stage. When I checked the logs it said:
System returned to ROM by error – Debug Exception (Could be NULL pointer derefer
ence) Exception (0x2000)!, PC 0x25E990
On Cisco’s website, it says workaround is none at this time. And has a status of Unreproducible.
This is are first power over ethernet switch. Is a special Fluke meter required when dealing with PoE? The Fluke meter is a OneTouch 10/100 Network Assistant. I believe its about 3 or 4 years old.
