POP3 and gmail

I have set up my gmail account with outlook 2007 via POP3.
the problem is
it has been downloading alot of MB while all the e mails has been downloaded. this is every time send and receive is taking action.

How can i solve it,
Because it takes time to download while there is only one or two email to my gmail account.
