Pop3 authentication using Solaris

I am using sendmail and pop3 for my mail server. I also have a RAS server which uses erpcd based on Solaris for authentication which is based on diff. box. Can my mail server use Solaris box for authentication so I maintain one password file for mail and authentication? Is there a third party software which I can use? Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks.
