POP3 Collector for 40 Users SBS 2003

Is it completely insane to try to use a pop3 collector for 40 users? Our DSL goes out all the time, as well as our environment power, so I really don’t want to “host” our mail in house. This is SBS 2003. Thanks for anyone who could lend some advice. (preferably someone that thinks it’s not insane) LOL
