Port Security

I am running Windows NT 4.0, Exchange 5.5, Proxy 2.0 on my server. I am new in this environment, how do i no which ports i’m using to connect to my ISP for internet and mail.How do i secure the ports, to avoid spamming and hacking ?
Any assistance i greatly appreciate.
