Power-on Password for HP Compaq 2710p

How can I reset the power-on password? I was trying to format it, then when I restarted the laptop, it showed a power-on password and I don’t know the password. BTW, this is a company laptop. So maybe someone has already put the password and forgot it. An answer will be much appreciated!
