Problem in networking systems

I’ve two computers linked with lan cards. One of them have motherboard built in Lan card and both of them linked with 10 base wire.
Before this problem the communication between systems working properly, but one system got troubleshooting in windows and I’ve reinstalled win98 after installation process the networking didn’t working. Now a days I’ve set the NetBEUI protocol. tell me the solution that these networking works properly as before.
