Problem seeing network when dialing into

by cdlampl . Updated 25 years, 11 months ago

When we are not dialed into the other network, we can see our network just fine. As soon as we connect, the LAN no longer exists.. paths and computers are not found (even if we do a find). As soon as we disconnect, everything is back to normal. Ifwe run winipcfg.exe and release, then restore the ip for the network adapter card, then we can successfully communicate with both our network and the one we are dialed into.

It seems strange that when we dial in, the network settings on the network adapter are changed.

We are currently running NETBEUI and TCP/IP on our network, obtaining an ip from a DHCP server on our network. The network we are dialing into is also assigning an IP, but it should go onto the dial up adapter.

We are running Windows 98.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
