problem viewing images

by kenneth_taylor . Updated 25 years, 10 months ago

what would cause my machine, an IBM aptiva 233MMX running win95 with ATI display, suddenly become incapable of viewing jpgs, gifs, or bitmaps unless you use a web browser to do it? I’ve tried I_View32(bar none the best image viewing program, period), Wangimg, Windows Media Player, none of them will show bitmap based images anymore. I_View gets a divide error, the other 2 both say invalid file type. The kicker is they can still show the image in the preview pane, or in a thumbnail view, just not full open, and Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator both show the images fine… I’ve already tried the standard tech answer(reboot the system), and i’ve deleted I_View, rebooted, re-downloaded and tried again. I can still view video files such as avi or mov, btw.
