Problem With LCD Screen on Dell Inspiron Laptop

My laptop recently was dropped and now my screen is full of dark reddish purple blotches and diagonal blue, green and black lines. The screen also flickers and is very light, barely able to see the screen. The only thing is that when I squeeze the top of the plastic case above the screen, the screen is fine. Could the screen just have come loose from its enclosure, and if so, how can I fix it?
