Hi everyone
My company’s licence allowed me to install Windows 2000 Profesional on my home PC but that created a havoc om my machine. My home PC is HP Pavilion 6355 (3 years old now), It was originaly with Win98 on it. Before instalation I have checked Hardware compliance and downloaded all necesary drivers for devices listed on upgrade report, also all patches for software that I have instaled.
But After Instalation After I started updating drivers, two unlisted devices (from upgrade report) started bugging me : PCI Simple Controler and USB Composite Device. Main driver for USB works properly but I keep getting that annoying popups anytime I boot my PC. Also I need to install SoundBlaster Platinum Live (with Live Drive) for my sister, but it couldn’t work under Win98 because of IRQ clashes (which I found to be common for that device with nearly all Win98 users and that particular device) because I couldn’t find good workaround I opted for upgrade to Win2K.
Have anybody out there encountered similar issue and what solutions worked for you.
