problems going wireless with comcast/netgear router

I have been unsuccessfully trying to go wireless for two months now. I know it is not my laptop as I was just at a campground a couple weeks ago wireless. The main computer here at the office is running windows vista. The router is netgear cg814wg v2. It shows my internet connection status as connected and excellent strength, but when I try to connect to anything, it will not work. I have to be hard wired to the router and its driving me crazy.
