Proxy Server 2.0 & Media Player 7.0

by jeffl . Updated 25 years, 8 months ago

Hope someone can help me with this. I have a NT4 PDC setup on my home network with Proxy Server 2.0 installed on it to share out my Internet connection. My workstation is Windows 2000 Professional.

I was running Windows Media Player 6.4 without any problems, but now that I have upgraded to version 7.0 the Media Player won’t play ANYTHING off the web. It plays local MP3s and MPEGS just fine, but when it comes to streaming media, nothing works. I just get an error that reads:

“Unable to access this media, you may not be connected to the network.”

I’ve tried playing with the Proxy settings within Media Player but haven’t had any luck. I’m a novice when it comes to Proxy Server 2.0 so the problem could easily be on that end (I’m just surprised I ever got Internet sharing to work :))

PLEASE HELP! Thanks!
