all hypothetical…but what would happen if you had a software IDE raid array (RAID 5, with 4 disks) that was supporting both your operating system, and your data (two seperate drive letters). You blue screen when it’s starting up (win2k server)and decide that maybe its a bad ide controller, and unplug two drives, then power on. Say it does the EXACT same blue screen. Would you have broken the RAID array up by unplugging two drives at once? I don’t think so because 1)it’s software and the os didn’t even start up and 2)it didn’t give a different error msg when starting up. What do you think? I hope this garbled mess makes sense 😀
