Raid 0 Worth It?

I found out that I should be able to switch to raid zero since I have 2 HDD’s in my laptop. I would have to backup all my data because it will wipe my drives but would the performance increase be worth the time and would the fact that the two HDD’s are at different speeds but are the same size create any problems when I use Raid 0?
