This is off-topic but I’m so disgusted had to share.
Since last night and this morning I’ve been battling with getting police reports filed.
Seems my Mothers neighbor who lives across the street from her (a young woman roughly in her 30’s) – has decided to steal my Mothers ATM card, along with her cell phone and her pain meds (they are narcotics).
This is a young woman my Mother allowed into her home, extended nothing but friendship to her over the last year or so. And was repaid for her kindness by having all her money in her accounts stripped, her cell phone stolen and all her pain meds taken.
So far we have 3 police reports filed (I am the joint owner on her accounts), the cell phone is in my name and my service. So one report for each item.
Plus just spent time calling around getting items canceled (the bank accounts were done last night – thank goodness they allow this to be done online) – had to send my son out to the different ATM stores to get the receipts or what ever they are called pulled from the ATM machines (Police say we’ll need it for court). The bank also is sending me the full records (I already have a print out of everything)
Verizon tracked the phone back to her house. Have them records being sent and then once they tracked it they disconnected the service.
Flags were placed on her med refills so they can’t be refilled.
What in the world would possess a perfectly abled bodied who can work to steal from an elderly woman who lives off a meager 867.00 a month (not including what I give her) – who has done nothing but extend friendship to her.
Have a call into my lawyer – to see what is the next course of action. We can’t prove she stole the meds outside the fact they come up missing after the woman left my Mom’s house. Since they are a controlled substance (the narcotic team will be involved)
Thanks for listening.. now I’ll get back to checking up on bug reports (and speaking of bug reports – I was having dreams last night of bug reports with hairy spider legs crawling all over the place – yuck!)
