Raptor Firewall

Can anyone out there recommend the correct procedure in configuring Symantec’s Raptor 6.5 to access a private FTP site using any (recommended FTP) client.
Raptor will make a connection to anonamous FTP sites no problem, but I get a 10061 error whenconnecting to a private FTP site (using port numbers other than 21 and prompting for username/password).
Please let there be a god out there that will give me an answer on this one.
