I was on a job where I was responsible for Storage and over 100 databases in a production environment. I was reassigned to another position but still expected to full support my former area with full acountabililty even though I was no longer permitted to perform any preventive maintenance. Although others would be technically responsible, it was made clear that it still fell on me. I was also not allowed to train them even though they had no knowledge or expertise in those areas.
I tried explain this situation to my leadership, but nobody would agree that this was not best practice. I could not get management to see my side or ensure that the accountability would be on someone else. So I chose to leave the company.
What would you have done?
