Recourse against a headhunter?

by h.j.miller,cisa,cdp . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

TOTALLY hypothetical question:
You make contact with a headhunter by email after seeing his post on a listserv. He follows up, says he can help you, and asks for a resume. You send it. He comes back and asks you for your ideal job description. You send it, and hear no more from him. He contacts your manager, telling him you are looking and offering his services to fill your position when [or before] you are gone. What recourse do you have? Recourse in law? Recourse in professional societies?
