Recovering offline files!

by bbusse . Updated 22 years, 11 months ago

Does anyone know a way to recover offline files? Details below:

I have userA in domainA.

UserA had offline files & folders enabled and had synchonized a number of files between the server and the offline folder. The server crashed hard and it was neccessary to rebuild from scratch (and reformat the server)(and no good backup either). I made sure that before we did this userA had replicated all data to her offline folder for backup purposes. After rebuilding the server I had to recreate
the user and machine accounts. In order to get the desktops linked back up with the domain I had to remove them first and then rejoin them. When userA logged back in using the new account it created the new profile (UserA.DomainA), as expected. I assumed that once the new
profile was created I could go back to the old userA profile and copy over the necessary files. However, all the offline files that were linked with the old userA profile now cannot be accessed by the new userA.domainA profile.

If you open Explorer-Tools-Offline Files-View Files it shows all the files. If you try to open a file though, it tries to look on the server for it. I know that offline files are linked with the WINNT\CSC file but these files
are in some typeof serial number order such as
WINNT\CSC\D1\80000018. I have tried syncing the files but it won’t work. I need to retrieve these files desperately!!!

Any suggestions?
