I have a running problem with Red Hat Linux 7.1 (downloaded from ftp.redhat.com).
The system has been built as a DNS server, and runs very little… samba, bind, X etc..
It is impossible to access any service on this machine over the network. Although the server can be pinged. Telnet is enables yet refuses connections.
If running TCPDump while doing this I can see an error: udp port domain unreachable; but nothing else.
The system has been patched with all available security and system patches on redhat.
Installing Redhat 7.0 on this system works, but produces errors with BIND and a complete lack of a working backspace character (mild annoyances)!
While 7.0 is still an option 7.1 is preferable because of some updates to XFree86 and parts of the kernal.
Any help would be appreciated!
