RedHat 6.0/6.1 Installation

I’ve been trying to install RH6.0 through NFS to no avail and I tried a RH6.1 installation but it did not succeed either.

With the RH 6.0, the installation on the host hangs up whilst saying “adding ext2 filesystem ” or something of the sort. With RH6.1, the installation aborts and initiates poweroff procedure and reports “aborting …error 7”

I would like to use NFS as I don’t have a CDROM on the host and the two systems (486 & Pentium II) have different incompatible hardware and I cannot install the Pentium’s CDROM on the 486 temporarily.

My settings are :
Server IP address : 10.0.0.1
Host IP address : 10.0.0.2
Broadcast address : 10.255.255.255
Netmask : 255.0.0.0
Directory to mount : /mnt/cdrom

The RH 6.1 installation asks for a driver disk but I have no idea what it is refering to and I’m just cancelling this. The image I’m using with RH 6.1 is bootnet.img. The RH 6.0 image is boot.img. The 2 machines are connected via ethernet adapters. Before starting access to the server’
