RedHat 8.0 failed install

I have an amd 500 with 256 mb ram, tnt m64 video, maxtor 5.7gb drive. redhat 6.0 installed fine. redhat 8.0 installs fine in grafical mode until it gets to transfering install image to hard drive…the indicator goes all the way over then stops andnothing else happens…i left the pc like this over night and still the same thing. i have tried several different installs with the same results. can someone help me?
