Remote Client Sessions

Requirement-Hello I am about to build a 2000 server under my domain.We will have clients all over the country basically Sync their PDA’s locally on their PC and then Connecting to my 2000 box.My questions what would be the most secure and seamless avenue for these users.I suggested just plain ol VPN.What do you think
