Remote Control

by bayegank . Updated 24 years, 11 months ago

I have just been asked to help set up a project and I’m a bit stumped. Here’s the scenario:

Some employees are either on the road or at home, but can easily connect their machines to the Internet. They need tech support in a special way, meaning that the tech support person at the central office needs to gain access to their machines and do some diagnostic or maintenance tasks. Now, gaining access is the easy part. I can use PcAnywhere, for example. But, once I am there, is there any way to map their drives to a local drive in the main office computer and run, for example a diagnostic utility on it, or defrag their drives or check them for viruses or do other similar things? PcAnywhere and LapLink don’t seem to do that? Is there any other program that would?

Thanks for any help in the right direction.
