Remote Dialup Access to window 2000

I established remote access server on window 2000 server and setup up modem correctly , i want to connect my laptop to windows 2000 server via dialup (using win XP professional) ..i connected succesfully to netwrok.
the point is i was unable to seeany thing on the server (win 2000) …how can i access netowork resources …what should i do on server or my laptop to gain an access to windows 2000 server resources>?
