remote xwin session

by cp409sd . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

I am able to start remote xwin sessions. I just redirect the DISPLAY variable to the IP address that I am coming from and start an xwin client. Then I can run x applications. I understand how to do this. What I don’t know is how to do is, run the x console remotely.

What I mean is that I can run individual applications, such as xclock, kpackage, etc. But I would like to run the xwin console.(like what you log into at run level 5 when the system boots up)

Is this possible, or do I have to run all of the xwin applications separately.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

P.S. anyone who the difference between inetd and xinetd?? Thanks.
