Removal of IE Customization

I have a computer with IE customized to prevent access to secure (SSL) sites and I need to disable or remove this customization. Have been unable to determine how to to this and I have a user which really needs this function to do her job.
How can this customization be removed short of completely reinstalling the operating system?
