Replacing International Keybord on Sony Vaio

by mobile . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

I am American but had a computing emergency while in Italy recently and had to buy a laptop in Italy. I bought a Sony Vaio VGN-AR11S. It came with Italian Windows on it but I replaced that with English Windows.

The keyboard, however, is an Italian keyboard, with all the punctuation marks in places I am not used to on an American keyboard.

I would like to replace this keyboard with an American English keyboard but:

1. I am not sure this is possible… does anyone know if it is easy just to buy a new one and plug it in?
2. It appears Sony Vaio VGN-AR11S is only sold in Europe, which makes finding parts for it a bit harder. Does anyone know what the American version of this computer is, or which other versions of Vaio have the exact same size keyboard and layout, so I can buy it?
3. Does anyone know a place that is good to buy parts for a vaio like this?

Thanks for any help!
