Replacing Netware’s NAL

by kaed37 . Updated 25 years ago

Novell is eventually going away in favor of a Win2000 network. Workstations will stay W95 for some time before upgraded to W2K. Unfortunately, we need to get a replacement for the Netware App Launcher that our W95 users rely on so heavily. We do have SMS in place and testing packages, etc on but have not found a way to actually put a folder on desktop with icons that are either shortcuts to UNC paths for the program or a package. Have also looked at profiles, scripts, etc. This would be a temporary fix until workstations are upgraded to W2K so we can then use Group Policy Objects and the Intellimirror technology. Does anyone have any suggestions for simulating NAL in W2K in the meantime?
