I am not sure if this is the proper place to ask, but I got a question on what I was told is called “reprints.”
We started a web site on selling printer inks and toners at http://www.theultimateink.com. I wanted to start a document that customers can download for free tips on optimizing and maintaining their printing equiptment.
I wrote and called and wrote again to the editors of PCWorld magazine and PCMag magazine about using, and giving credit to, some of the tips I find as I read them myself for personal use. I have not heard back from them.
All I want to know, and please give your opinions on this, if I can “reprint” some info I find and put it on my downloadable document for my web site, and give credit to the authors of those tips.
Can I freely do this or do I need their permissions?
Please advise. Thank you.
