I was in a management role over all consultants for 4 years with a Director title. With a number of mistakes by entire management team with market trends and a high bench, there was no money for staff training and other goals. As the staff became concerned with a financial crisis when they heard of short term management pay cuts at end of year, followed by Partner politics of who should run the company, an opportunity developed when a fellow Director resigned. When asked to commit (they knewmy weakness ? honesty) not to look for work, I proposed an exit plan. I resigned with a small period of pay to cover a job search. My wife came into money from her mothers estate, so she asked me to take a sabbatical. Best summer ever.
Okay, now at 45 years old. As a Executive Recruiter put it ? I have old Project Management experience, only leadership skills in C/S, and my job was to keep everyone from quitting for 4 year. Generated no revenue, limited formal methodology did no sales, and I have never lead an I-net effort. My job was the consultant advocate, coordinate training, mentoring, procedure definition and enforcement, reviews with client, established internal training program, and the staff respected me.
My strengthis getting everyone too work together. A unique style of passive, but agressive.
So, now what do I do? Should I go back and take technical course? If so, what?
