Resizing Screen Captures

I’m developing a WBT class for a software application, so I’m including screen captures. My screen captures are 757 pixels wide; I need them to be 500 pixels wide.

QUESTION: How do I resize my screen captures without losing the detail? I’ve triedeverything I can think of including resizing the screens before capturing, but essential fields and buttons are cut off. The best technique I’ve found is to convert the image to greyscale and resample the image (instead of resizing) in Paint Shop Pro, but it’s still not great. Any suggestions?
