Restricted web access

by jason7t1 . Updated 17 years ago

A colleague asked me to have a look at his home PC – for some reason, he cannot get access to certain domains – mostly adobe.com

eg. get.adobe.com

typing http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer returns an “IE Cannot display page” error

Typing www.adobe.com returns a google search

clearly, something is stopping my colleague from accessing adobe.com websites – but what ?

I have checked the usual;

Hosts file just contains the loopback IP address, and I cant find anything in the registry which would inhibit access to adobe (or any other site).

So I’m at a loss – and would appreciate some advice.

All other web access is as expected – and until recently, he says he could access adobe.com

He is runnig Vista Home Premium (32 Bit) on a Core 2 Duo Toshiba laptop
