Retail Stores/Corp Office networking – How to…

OK, I plan on getting all my retail stores on VPN to my central location(corp office), use only internal DNS servers and Proxy servers to allow/dissallow websites and network traffic.
and build an intranet site to share documentation, policies, news etc etc… internally.

anyone else doing something similar?

also, all my it staff (all 2 of us) are located in southern california, but we have stores all through out the state, anyone else have similar situation (retail stores or small sat offices?)
