Run Only Allowed Applications

I’m looking for some sort of Microsoft reference that tells me how many executables I can list in the gpo for Run Only Allowed Applications. I’ve heard that it was a set number of programs and I’ve also heard its based on space, ie the longer the file names the less you can apply. I should mention that I have searched extensively and could not find anything.
