Search box in excel’

I have an inventory list, and just to make things as dummy proof as possible, I am trying to create a search box at the top of the spreadsheet. Enter in a word and it will search in a set row (ie V-lookup-esq), and return information into 2 seperate cells, “quantity on hand”, and “location to be found.” Is there anyway to do this? I’ve used dynamic text boxes before in flash, but I’m not sure if excel can do this.
