Secondary MX service

Am I asking the wrong questions? I am looking for someone to provide my company with backup e-mail storage. We need a secondary MX record in case our systems go down. We provide our own primary e-mail and DNS services.

When I call the local ISP’s they don’t seem to know what I am talking about or want us to switch our DSN over to them.

Any recommendations?
