Security Policies on Personal Computers

I have to redevelop our elec communication policy. I need info on policies applied to remote users (sales reps) who use their PERSONAL pc’s for company use via email/internet. Since they’re not using company provided equipment, would the standard elec policy apply to them? Any suggestions on how I should address this issue or where I can find info for this specific issue?
