Good Morning Everyone,
I?m working for a small IT department. Recently we have upgraded our NT4 domain to W2K AD and all NT4 DCs to W2K DCs. We?re now upgrading the NT4 member servers to W2K servers and all workstations to XP Pro. This month we?re planning to pilot the Exchange 2K message system. Our final goal is to replace our current SMTP mail server (3rd party mail system) with Exchange 2K.
We?re planning to pilot Exch 2K to small group of users and most of the users are still using SMTP mail server. My concerns are: 1. Will Exch 2K interfere with the SMTP mail users from sending/receiving mails. 2. How to set up Exch 2K so Exch 2K users can communicate with SMTP users internally and can send and receive internet mails.
3. Is it good idea to put the Exch 2K server in different domain than SMTP server.
This is the first time we try Exchange mail system. Please advise. Your assistance is very appreciated.
