SESSION TIME OUTS

Hi all,

windows XP PRO/HOME environment with a win2000 server.

Setup as a workgroup becasue XP home cannot be added to a
domain.

outlook PST files on server.
Data on server

After a period of 10 to 15 minutes, some computers
(randomly) drop the connection to the server…. when this
happens the users lose access to their outlook pst & and
word or excel file which they were working on, resulting
in loss of data.

I have thought of upgrading the XP home machines to XP pro
and promoting the server to a domain…?? would this solve
the prob or is their and easier solution?
