Setup incoming VPN over cable-modem connection

by joelicketto . Updated 21 years, 7 months ago

I am looking for information that will allow me to connect to my home office network using Remote Desktop. I have an Active Directory domain network setup for file and print services and connect through a router/firewall and cable-modem.
My problem appears to be that since I am using Charter Communications cable access (DHCP connection that changes approximately once every few weeks), that I can’t locate my domain through their network.
I also can’t find any information that will allow me to make the desired connection. My regular office is a major corporation and we have the ability and software to VPN into the corporate network to do remote support sessions. However, I’d like to be able to got the other direction or to access my home network from the road when I travel.
Can anyone help point me in the correct direction to get what I am attempting to accomplish?
Thanks.
