several video drivers in W2K not good?

I am trying to get W2K (installed over ME) to display full color and larger than 640 X 480 with an onboard Geforce2 GO in a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop. The default VGA non-plug and play driver is all that is given as a choice right now. I have seven new drivers in the C:\Drivers\DELL folder now and still no luck. My question is: do I have to try each driver by itself in that folder and remove the other six, or will W2K just choose the one that works and ignore the other six with all of them still in the folder?
The drivers, BTW are from Dell, guru3d and other reputable sites. I’ve been installing OS’s and drivers for ten+ years now and have never had this problem before.
