Sharing Word 2000 Doc

I know that in Excel a workbook can be shared with the “Share Workbook…” function, but is there a way to share a
Word doc (Word 2000) on a network drive so that multiple people can use it
and make changes at the same time?

Any advice would begladly appreciated.
