Shifting into a Business Management

I am a 39 years old System Analyst and after 10 years of being IT Manager and IT Consultant I am getting a Degree in Business Management.
Do you consider is a good decision this shift ? I believe that knowledge from both empower my chances of being well employed for long.

I am worried about IT pros does not understand business and I think this is one reason why a lot of IT projects fail.
