Hello all:
I recently took a new position as IT Lead of a small, but well connected, biotech firm formed by a joint venture between to agribusiness giants. I left a decaying business that was laying off people and had an IT group that was on a downward spiral. I love my new job, and the pay is above average, but I had a call back from another job I had applied to. This position is Assistant CIO for a major midwestern City. I happen to live in this city, and the job I took is quite a distancein the suburbs. The Asst. CIO job would be three miles from where I live, and I think it may potentially be 30-40K more than what I am making. Should I bother to interview… or should I just stop in my tracks since I took this new position and havea committment to my new employer. I have a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. My own internal voice tells me I owe it to myself to at least check out this Asst CIO position — I may not even want to pursue it based on an initial interview.
Any and all opinions appreciated.
Thx.
